Music Thursdays
Every Thursday in September

In September, Mexico Beach invites you to take that much deserved break! A long weekend on the beach is just what the doctor ordered. We suggest you take Friday off and arrive early evening on Thursdays in September. To celebrate your arrival, the Mexico Beach Community Development Council, Inc. is hosting "September Music Thursdays." Remember that OFF SEASON RATES ARE IN EFFECT! Every Thursday in September, beginning at 7:00 PM CST and continuing until 9:00 PM CST, a Live Musical venue will be on hand to start your long weekend "Gettaway" on the Beach. 7th Annual Scallop Festival
September 3-4, 2004
The Annual Celebration of the recreationally harvested succulent scallop is one of the best events in this area on September 3-4, 2004. The festival is held in conjunction with scalloping season and encourages locals to participate in several ways while inviting visitors from out of the county to visit Gulf County and indulge in eating cooked scallops and purchasing frozen scallops to take home for later use. Birding & Wildflower Festival

Port St. Joe Annual Downtown Trick or treat Sponsored by Gulf County Chamber. Reid Avenue, 5:30pm. Free. Come listen to great storytellers, tour the haunted house, and be treated to the best community haunt around. Costume contest. Great fun for kids of all ages.

Art & Wine Festival

The 6th Annual Mexico Beach Art & Wine Festival. Combined with a blues music background and tasting of fine wines, the October event promises to be one for the memory books. Art entered in the showing will be available for purchase through direct sales from the artists as well as a live auction. Cash prize money will be awarded for a winner in numerous divisions. Wine, beer and soft drinks, along with numerous memorabilia will be available for sale at the event. Tickets for this event will be available for sale in early September 2004. Celebration of Lights

Mexico Beach Christmas Celebration of Lights. Join us in Mexico Beach for Christmas Carols, Refreshments and the Official Tree Lighting Ceremony to take place at the City's Sunset Park. Ring in the Holiday Spirit overlooking the stars and listening to the sounds of the surf lapping at the shoreline.

Beaches' New Year's Celebration

Celebrate Safe/Celebrate Twice On December 31, 2004. Special Events for Mexico Beach, Inc. will coordinate the Celebrate Safe and Celebrate Twice New Year's Eve on the Beaches. Croom's Ttransportation of Apalachicola will once again be providing FREE transportation for those wishing to ring in the New Year both on Central and Eastern Times. The trolleys will transport both residents and visitors to and from Mexico Beach and St. Joe Beach from 7:00 PM CST until 2:00 AM CST. Those wishing to catch the trolley should stand on the side of the road and wave for the trolley to stop for pickup. Businesses donating to the event will be official stopping points.
